How to Renew Your Strength - Hasah 10/04/2009
Lately, I find myself in a season of training and listening instead of teaching and preaching. It is a time to "hasah"- or rest - in the Lord. "Hasah" is a Hebrew word which means "to rest" or "take refuge" and you can reference it in Isaiah 30:15. King James Version: For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength New International Version: This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength" So, here, we see two actions that will beget an end result. Repentence + Rest ---------> Salvation ...and another two actions that will beget another end result. Quietness + Trust ----------> Strength Let us rejoice in the Lord, for His Words are living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. We can trust that if we act on these words, we will receive the results we seek. What I love about Him is that, even though we make mistakes, His Grace is sufficient. We don't have to worry about what others may think of us. First, we don't answer to the people in this world. We are commanded to love them, but we are not commanded to seek their approval or acceptance. We are to seek the approval of the Lord. And when we mess up, we don't have to worry about Him disowning us. We can go to Him and repent. We can go to Him quietly, trusting that He will renew our strength. Resting in His salvation. Did anyone on this earth die for you? So how can they save you? Jesus Christ died for us. And then He rose! He beat death! Now who else on this earth has done that? So that is why I know that when I go to the Lord, I can rest in His Salvation, for He is the only one that died for me, and then rose again. He alone is worthy of our praise, worthy of acceptance, worthy of our obedience. As I scribe these words, there is renewal, there is restoration in my spirit. For I know that the Lord is faithful, and His redemptive power is unmatched. I can "hasah" during this season, I can quiet my spirit and listen to His instruction, His revelation. You can as well. I pray you make the choice to seek the Lord to renew your strength. I pray you make the choice to let His loving grace shine upon you and lift you up over the heads of your enemies. The Lord is the everlasting God the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Those who hope in the Lord wil renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, They will run and not grow weary, They will walk and not be faint. Scripture meditation Isaiah 30:15 Isaiah 40:28-31 CommentsLeave a Reply |
