Spiritual Preparation for 2010 12/19/2009
Grace and Peace upon the Agape Love Works Ministries Prayer Network, I pray this note reaches you well and in good spirits. This note is for our group's spiritual preparation for 2010. The first chapter of Joshua talks about moving forward and possessing land... taking over territory through the Lord's leading and encouragement. There is a phrase that the Lord said several times within this chapter to Joshua. He said "Be strong and of good courage" in the following verses: Joshua 1:6 Joshua 1:7 Joshua 1:9 Joshua 1:18 So I pray this note encourages you to meditate on the first chapter of Joshua to spiritually prepare you for 2010 as well. Sometimes we are gripped with fear about what's on the other side of the wall... the land we are to enter is foreign... a land we are not use to... and we forget that we are sons and daughters of the Most High. I pray His Word reminds us to move forward according to His Will, His Way... to move forward and take over land for Him... land the Lord our God is giving us for our own (see verse 11). So, be strong and of good courage! (c) 2009 Agape Love Works Mnistries Grace and peace upon you... Well, after months of birthing this vision, I received a prophetic Word and scriptures from a dear Pastor and President of a Christian college this past week. You know, Pappa is so amazing. I am sure you have wonderful testimonies of how He has come through for you as well. Hopefully, I'll get to meet you at one of the cities I'm touring this fall and upcoming spring. We can share testimonies. I will be away for a while on this travel, so if you'll be in one of the cities and you're pursuing a graduate degree in particular, feel free to register (the events are *FREE* and the networking lunch is $20. We do have limited spacing, so if you are unable to attend you'll be missing out... go register now and claim your space and pass the word... (http://www.gradprep.org) And please keep me up in your prayers! There are always a handful that will try to block the Kingdom from advancing, but you and I both know they are not bigger than God! Pappa will have His way. I love Him so much... and I love you... thank you so much for following this blog and I pray you've been edified here. Now, let's connect in person.... I'll see you at one of the events coming up! Love you, Sis Keisha Dawn I feel compelled to write about the subject of Honor at this time for several reasons. We are commanded to honor those in authority, our Mother and Father, our spouses, God's prophets, Israel, etc. However, I have noticed in increasing measure spirits of disrespect, of jealousy/envy, of disregard, of slander and strife... these behaviours are in direct disobedience to God's Word and when we continue to operate in these behaviours we will inevitably eat its fruit. For whatever we sow, we shall also reap. When you sense that negativity is attacking you, see if you had any part of it. If so, ask for forgiveness from the other person. Set the example through love, even if they continue to act negative towards to you. In this economy, when jobs are scarce, be sure to always operate in a spirit of Honor. Honor your employer. Honor yourself by doing the best work possible and do it unto the Lord. Honor others and love your enemies. Sounds cliche', perhaps. However, if you want to see progress in your life and doors open, Honor works. If the Lord has chosen someone to lead a vision, Honor them. Is it wise to disrespect them, argue with them or speak to them in harsh tones... especially if they sign your paycheck? Is it wise to withhold information from them? If your supervisor asks you to do something, do it promptly and with a joyful heart. They will notice your great attitude and you will win favor. Even Nehemiah was wise enough to use Honor to win favor with King Artaxerxes (see Nehemiah Chapter 2). By serving the King and speaking to him with respect ("if it pleases the king...") , Nehemiah won favor and was able to rebuild the city of Judah. I also like the fact that he kept in touch with King Artaxerxes while building and even returned to him. (see Nehemiah Chapter 13:6-7) If you have fallen into negative behaviours, repent to the Lord and ask for forgiveness from those you have dishonored. If your pride gets in the way, you need to renounce it and operate in a spirit of humility. Pride inhibits progress. And if you are a Christian, I am writing this especially to you because the world is looking at us. You need to represent Christ and all that He stands for. And it goes beyond saying you are a Christian. Your behaviour and tone towards others should reflect Christ's behaviour and tone. I speak this unto you in a spirit of love... to God be the glory. If you are offended by this writing, renounce that spirit of offense and receive these words with a soft heart and ears that hear. If you want to be promoted to the next level.. if you want to see progress in your life.. operate in the spirit of Honor towards others... you will see doors open, favor, promotions and people will speak highly of you. For those that receive these words in their spirit and choose to honor others, I speak progress and promotion over you, in Jesus name. One of the many aspects of Chicago that I love is the Chicago Public Library. I remember first moving here this past summer and camping out among the archives, eventually checking out bagful of books. It is such a beautiful building. I love to read and expand knowledge. They have a new downloadable Media Catalog, very convenient in the winter time when cardholders do not want to forge the bitter, cold winds to go the library. |
